SHAPA
Grundisburgh Village Show benefits from being a member of The Suffolk Horticultural and Produce Association (SHAPA) through getting experienced and impartial judges, having access to a good value insurance scheme and being able to access a ready source of advice.

SHAPA was originally founded as the Village Produce Association in 1941 to support the war effort when people were encouraged to ‘dig for victory’. Its main role now is to support its member horticultural societies across Suffolk.

A major problem currently facing SHAPA is being able to recruit enough judges to replace those that have retired. Training is given to all new judges and they initially work alongside experienced judges. Mileage is paid to cover travel costs. Anyone who would like to find out more should contact Jan Lovell, the judging secretary, on 01728 830699, or Martin Cripps, SHAPA chairman on chairman@grundisburgh.show .
As it does not have its own website, Grundisburgh Burgh & Culpho Horticultural Society has agreed to host the list of shows being mounted around Suffolk by its member organisations.
