Hidden Gardens

Grundisburgh, Burgh & Culpho Hidden Gardens will be held this year over the 9-10 June (2-6pm).

This popular annual event is now in its twenty-ninth year. We are delighted to have a real mix of gardens open this year, ranging from cottage and formal gardens, sculpture garden and woodland. Water features in a number of gardens, both formally, in ponds and fountains, as well as informally, in the waterway that runs through a large parts of Grundisburgh village, including the Green.

If you live in Grundisburgh, Burgh or Culpho and you would like your garden to be involved in 2018, it is not too late. Please get in touch with Catherine Laxton via the Grundisburgh, Burgh & Culpho Horticultural Society.

As well as some delightful walks around all three villages, Grundisburgh village green will host a plant sale courtesy of Katie’s Garden. There are teas and snacks in the Parish Rooms, a cake sale and a special menu available throughout the weekend at the village pub, The Dog.

Tickets to Hidden Gardens will, this year, include an art exhibition held in the grounds of Grundisburgh House, featuring the work of some exciting Suffolk artists including ceramicists Sophie Cook and Cathy Outen, sculptor Paul Bruce, painters Julia Heseltine, Michaela Latham and Martin Coe, and environmental artist Nicola Coe. Bird enthusiast and local painter Reg Snook has kindly donated a watercolour of a Red Kite to be sold over the weekend.

Tickets are £5 on the day from the Green in Grundisburgh. Tickets can be used on both days to access gardens in Grundisburgh, Culpho and Burgh, and the art exhibition. Proceeds allow us to put on the Grundisburgh Show, and support local charities. This year, money raised will go towards the Grundisburgh Guides.

This event takes place thanks to the generosity of our sponsors The Dog, Grundisburgh, and Katie’s Garden.
